The University of Catania will offer a new three-year degree course with national restricted access to Prevention techniques in the environment and in the workplace, established under the Lgold of the health professions of the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine.
It aims to train health professionals involved in the promotion and protection of public health: expert technicians capable of carrying out all the activities of prevention, verification and control in environmental hygiene and safety in the places of life and work, food and beverage hygiene, public and veterinary hygiene and health, hygiene and environmental protection.
This course represents only one of the novelties of the UNICT training offer for the new academic yeartogether with the three-year degree of free access in Business Management for the Sustainable Economy, based in Ragusa, the master’s degree in Human Nutrition Sciences of the Department of Biometec, and the renewed master’s degree in Data Science at the Faculty of Economics and Business.
Thus, the total number of study courses offered by the University of Catania amounts to 104including three-year courses, masters and single cycles.
The figure of the prevention technician in the environment and in the workplace is missing throughout the country: the course is born, therefore, of a close synergy between the University and the world of work that aims to improve aspects related to the training of the local people. qualified staff and mitigate early school leaving. The training is implemented through the learning of basic disciplines (Applied Physics, Embryology and Biology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Histology, Physiology, Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology) and, subsequently, through the learning of more strictly specific disciplines (Occupational Medicine , Law, Technical Physics). , Sanitary and Environmental Engineering, General and Applied Hygiene, Medical Statistics).
