Training and initial qualification

With the law of reconversion approved, the modalities of initial training, qualification and access to the teaching in secondary are defined.
Expected:

  • A university cycle of initial training qualification (corresponding to at least 60 training credits), with final exam.
  • National public competition held annually.
  • A one-year in-service trial period with final trial and final evaluation.

Therefore, the text provides for a precise course of initial training, selection and testing.

The enabling training path

It can be done after graduation, or during the training course, in addition to the credits required to achieve the degree. There is an internship period in schools. The final exam includes a simulated lesson, to check, in addition to the knowledge of the disciplinary contents, the teaching capacity. Universities will organize and manage training courses.

The competition and the qualification test

The degree will allow access to examinations, which will take place annually, to fill the vacancies of professor and to speed up access to the function of those who want to teach. Continuing education and National School

The continuous training of teachers will be continuous and structured, so that the innovation of teaching models is favored, also in view of the experience acquired during the health emergency and in accordance with the development objectives of innovative teaching that provides for the National Plan. of Recovery and Resilience. Training in digital skills and in the critical and responsible use of digital tools it will be part of the training that is already compulsory for everyone and will be done within working hours. Then, the decree introduces a system of updating and training with a three-year planning that will allow teachers to acquire knowledge and skills to design a teaching with innovative tools and methods. This training will be voluntary for those who are already holders today, it will be mandatory for new hires once the contract has been adjusted. It will take place at different times of the working day and can be paid after a selective evaluation, it is the so-called incentive training. The criteria of the incentive system and the number of additional hours to be performed will be decided during the negotiation. Continuing education courses will be defined by the School of Higher Education, which is established by the approved decree, and will be responsible not only for adopting the specific guidelines on the subject, but also for accrediting and verifying the structures. who will have to teach the teachings. , to ensure the highest quality.
