Peschiera Borromeo (MI), June 29, 2020.Farbirzio De André State Integral Institute in two years it has been awarded seven European projects (PON), for a total of approximately 400 thousand euros of funds, dedicated to students and schools. In terms of teaching, weekly modules have been activated to enhance learning, to recover the sociality tested by the Covid emergency. On the other hand, for teaching equipment, for example, the old Interactive Multimedia Whiteboard (PDI) in all classrooms was replaced by state-of-the-art giant monitors with integrated computers; train teachers to use it; and equip school complexes with a VOIP Voice Over Ip connection, or an Internet telephony system. The approximately 50 disused slates were donated to the parishes of Peschiera Borromeo and the Bova Marina State School in Calabria. The acronym PON it means National Operational Program, and are projects managed by the Ministry of Education (MIUR), which consist of an integrated intervention plan funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds, which aim to create a high quality education and training system. Instead the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) it is one of the main financial instruments of EU cohesion policy. It aims to help bridge disparities between the different levels of development in European regions and improve the standard of living in less-favored regions. We meet the dean prof. Daniela Spanò and the Director of General Administrative Services Dr. Arseni Leo at the secretariat of the Institute which has several school complexes in the city. In unison, the principal and the principal show us their satisfaction at how, in the midst of a thousand difficulties, the school has been able to restart in an almost “normal” way. “Thanks to the positive climate established between the school bodies, teachers and parents – explains the director prof. Daniela Spanò -, it was possible to start all the extra-didactic courses, to carry out the programmed didactic outings, and also to manage the weekly reinforcement modules of the PON. Our teachers have a strong personality and a great sense of belonging to our school. “. The dean then expressed his satisfaction with the work of Dr. Leo, general manager of the school and architect of the European competitions won; for its Secretariat, for the collaborators, for the teaching staff, who together have allowed the School to overcome the difficulties brilliantly due to the sudden changes in the legislation dictated by the Government in the matter of Covid 19. “Right Now – continues Daniela Spanò – weekly PON courses in music, English, and math are being held, aimed at about ninety students. This year we have managed to regain the patronage of the De André Foundation. For a school like ours, a musical direction is a coveted recognition that testifies to our work ”.. Among the sweets of this school we also highlight the robotics laboratory that is carried out in the first year of high school, the 3D printer, and the computer room present in the second year of primary school: “We have also participated in other ongoing projects, example to a PON in the nursery, they had not been done for more than ten years – says Dr. Arsenio Leo proudly -, and a PON for a state-of-the-art laser plotter. We are optimistic about the award. As for those already won, we were among the top three institutes in Lombardy and among the top ten in Italy to win loans. “. Increase in enrollment in high school: “This year – continues the director – we start with nine first courses, six in the Bettola complex and three in the San Bovio complex, two more than usual. Many requests for registration have also been received from outside the city. The next school year the students who will attend our school will be about 1500 “. Data in contrast to those of the metropolitan area of Milan, where the new course has one hundred classes and 2000 fewer students than the previous one. Relations with the municipal administration are also valued positively by prof. Daniela Spanò: “The municipal offices are always available to listen to our needs, and come to meet us. The relations with the town hall are excellent, we feel that they listen to us ”.
