Daniele Lupo and Alex Ranghieri, from the World Cup in Rome, made their debut in the main draw tournament, where they picked up three wins and one defeat, remedied by Enrico Rossi and Marco Caminati. By virtue of these results, Daniele and Alex have faced this morning the losers of the 4th round against Carlo Bonifazi and Davide Benzi, with the latter forced to leave the field during the tie break due to a physical problem. In the semifinals Daniele and Alex met again in front of Enrico Rossi and Marco Caminati. This time to win the match they were Lupo / Rangieri, victorious with the result of 2-1 (17-21, 21-18, 15-10). In the final, the Azzurri had to face the trophies of 2021 Andrea Abbiati and Tiziano Andreatta. Daniele and Alex started strong immediately getting a good break (14-8) and, thanks to the advantage achieved, closed the first set with a 21-16. The second half of the match continued along the same lines as the first set, with Lupo / Ranghieri immediately ahead (9-6). With a high quality beach volleyball, the strong blue did not give up, continuing to increase the advantage (17-11) and despite a timid recovery of Abbiati / Andreatta, managed to close the game with a 21-18. The four athletes entertained and thrilled the numerous attendees who gathered in the stands of the Polo Est Village of Bellaria Igea Marina, offering truly exciting sporting moments.
Great match also between the pairs formed by Enrico Rossi / Marco Caminati and Matteo Cecchini / Paolo Ingrosso valid for the 3rd / 4th place. To reach the third position were Enrico Rossi and Marco Caminati, thanks to the success by 2-0 (22-20, 21-17) over their rivals. The pair gathered for this first Golden Test of the national circuit, played an incredible tournament delighting the audience with matches played with strength and technique.
