Two days of adventure, immersed in nature, in the saddle of the Tiger range: this is the Triumph Adventure Experience Sport, the 100% asphalt driving experience to tackle individually or in pairs and open to everyone, Triumph motorcycle owners or not. , experienced and less experienced pilots. Two days to discover, curve after curve, stunning scenery, all just over an hour from Milan.
Format and route
The Sports stage is the first of the Triumph Adventure Experiences, which is divided as follows: the participants are divided into two groups, with a duration of the experience of a day and a half, thus covering the whole head. weekdays from Friday morning to Sunday evening. As part of the first group, we started from the track of Vairano di Vidigulfo (PV) to Bobbio (PC), passing by Castel San Giovanni and the river Trebbia, on Friday morning. A 92 km transfer that will serve as a warm-up for the Monte Penice time trial. Not before having visited the medieval village of Bobbio, awarded the prize “The most beautiful village in Italy” in 2019 and worth a visit. A short stop passing by the nerve centers of the historic center to Piazza Duomo, where the Concathedral of Santa Maria Assunta stands out, then return to the chair to climb Mount Penice while having fun safely.
Penice’s time trial and tour
From Bobbio to the top of Monte Penice for 17 km of curves and climbs: this is one of the advantages of the Triumph Adventure Experience Sport, with the road closed in the direction of travel to avoid, from time to time, the problem of the car . traffic on mountain passes. And it’s also a chance to stretch the neck of the Tiger range a bit, which we explore in the last paragraph. The rest of the day is a tour of the curves of the Apennines of Piacenza, crossing Marsaglia and walking through several mountain passes (including the pass of Santa Barbara at 1,136 meters above sea level) staying to the right of the river Trebbia. From Ponte Organasco, towards Brallo di Pregola, it rejoins the Pavese Apennines, and once at the top of the Brallo pass, the program includes the final stop of the day at the Sport Hotel Prodongo, surrounded by green nature and pampered. by the hotel’s own Spa, available to motorcyclists after many miles on the saddle during the day.
Triumph Adventure Experience: the route on the track
The second day of the Triumph adventure starts from the charming Prodongo, a small but funny reality of Pavia in which the stay at the hotel involves a dinner dedicated to local cuisine and wine and a mountain environment with structures. of wood. Instead of going to Penice via the Scapparina and then returning from Bobbio to Castel San Giovanni and turning towards Vairano, you descend from the Alta Valle Staffora crossing Brallo di Pregola and Varzi. Passing by the Salice Terme-Bressana, we go around Pavia and return to Vairano the rest of the morning of Day 2, for almost 100 km in total. On the circuit, in safe conditions, the monitors test the Abs of the Triumph range and invite participants to do the same, pulling the front brake lever so hard on the body in wet conditions. The lever presses, the ABS comes into play, but the front wheel does not lock and the motorcycle-cyclist combination, in disbelief of this one, remains standing in complete safety. Not only that: the exercises also include the technique of facing a long curve at a speed higher than we would enter under normal conditions, trying to push on the inner platform and with the outer leg to bend the bike in the last half of the curve . and make it bend without going straight or making a mistake. At the end of the exercises, the program includes turns on the track behind the monitor, learning trajectories and tricks of the trade before receiving the certificate of participation.
Triumph: the Tiger range
Available on both days of the Triumph Adventure Experience Sport a very wide Tiger range, with three-cylinder solutions available in different displacements, from 660 to 1200 to 900, and with different options in terms of tires, with a front. 17, 19 or 21 inches. From the small crossover 660 with which you dare to enter and make bends to the impressive 1200, the range goes through the adventure 900, which in the Rally Pro version stands out for its great comfort combined with a box of quickshifter changes and a cheerful character with which you tackle light dirt roads or mountain passes with maximum fun. The elevated driving position conferred by the 21 “front rim is an advantage for the rugged flashlight, while it is much more coiled and closed at 660 with a 17” rim and a sleeker, less bulky structure. The 1200 is prized for long journeys, technology and electronics on board, while it becomes more demanding on narrow, winding roads, either because of its size and weight, or because of a slight ignition that is noticeable when taken again. gas.
