Why Leah Remini has decided to pursue higher education
Many people see the Church of Scientology as a sect because of stories about how officials treat members. Some celebrities have links to Scientology, and Remini is one of them. She grew up as a member of the organization but separated in 2013. She left because she did not want her daughter to suffer the same pressures she had suffered. Remini later published a book and a series of documentaries about his experiences.
According to Page Six, one of the ways Remini was influenced by Scientology as he grew up was to focus less on school. The reason is not clear, but Remini ended up not pursuing higher education. He explained on Twitter that he had gone to school until the eighth grade.
Thus, Remini decided to continue his training at the age of 51, proving that “it is never too late”. OZY reports that it has obtained its GED. He is now in college and said, “This is one of the last pieces of my life that I am recovering from Scientology.”
