Moment in the Civic Aquarium
“Between space and time”. It is between these two concepts and their possible declensions that the theme of Fuorisalone 2022 arises. Starkhe takes advantage of this opportunity by questioning himself through a visual and experiential installation about time-space / environment relationships.
This is how the installation takes shape “Moment”, A work that brings together two visions of time, scientific time and the time of human life, the perceived.
In the last two years, spatial and temporal perceptions have changed drastically and the experience of the present, the past and the future has expanded and become confused, with a progressive loss of references.
They approach this indeterminacy that characterizes the new daily life environmental and climate change. These are often minimized and neglected as you perceive them as more distant, slower, and more gradual than the actual speed and unpredictability with which changes occur.
Immersing themselves in the work, people experience ashared experience explained by light and sound, in which the relation between the marked time is crossed, that advances inexorably and the perceived time, on which it is possible to be acted. A chaotic scenario, where one can perceive the consequence of each action, where the movements are amplified and exasperated, contrasts with a regular and constant scenario, in which drops of light are repeated non-stop and each moment is separated from the other. The drops thus form the time of science, a time in which it is not possible to intervene.
The work therefore invites us to reflect on the actions taken of each of us, who relate to space and, by interfering with it, transform it: despite the inexorable advance of time, it is still possible to decide.
